Lost Slough Vineyard

Faithfully farmed by the McCormick Family in the Sacramento Delta, these Chenin Blanc vines extend their old roots into soils that were once ancient seabed. The seashells strewn through these sandy-loam soils harken to this time, allowing a saline or wet rock characteristic, uncommon among California Chenin Blanc, to shine through in wines produced from the site. Cool delta air, and a protective canopy work to produce a physiological mature cluster at lower sugar levels, resulting in a balanced dance between fruit and acidity.

Old Stake 1901 Vineyard

A window into history, and California’s wine growing heritage. Old Stake 1901 is 120 years old, and has been dry farmed nearly its whole life, meaning concentration of flavor, and deep roots to keep the vines strong under the California sun. Sitting in iron rich, mildly rocky soils among the mountains of Lake County, and ranging between 1400 and 1600 feet in elevation, this unique vineyard is a field blend of red grapes sure to convey complexity and strength. Best practices used by the farmers to ensure the continued longevity of this historic site. Certified Sustainable.

Alder Springs Vineyard

Situated 150 miles north of San Francisco, and 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean, this Mendocino County vineyard is not only farmed meticulously, but with care and curiosity. Planted in the 1980’s by owner Stuart Bewley, most blocks are a Massale selection, a mix of clones, to guarantee complexity, and a wine experience beyond the norm. Our blocks sit between 2500 and 2700 feet above sea level on decomposing sandstone that allows the roots to grow deeper than most vines in California. Farmed with such attention to detail that Stuart goes so far as to understand the beneficial microbes living in his soil. This property is described as “beyond organic.”
